Background:

Because of Maoist insurgency, began on 13 February 1996, thousands of children, youths and adults have gradually been orphans, disabled and homeless and are compelled to pass miserable lives through out the country. This social organization was founded with prime aim of supporting the conflict victims, displaced, disabled impoverished and vulnerable children, adolescents and dying destitute having kept and protected them in a particular place. It was established as per the organization registrar act on 2034 BS. The DAO registration number is 806/062/063. It has also been affiliated with SWC with affiliation number 2010.

Vision:

The vision of Grace Home is to create such a society in which all the deprived section of the population would realize their full potential in society that respect their rights and dignities and empower them through need based developmental interventions with special focus on children and their development.

Mission:

The mission of the organization is to activate the genuine participation of imporverished and vulnerable children, disabled and dying destitute in the process of self help development of their own through: a) improved life chances b) empowerment and c) need based program intervention.

Grace Home's over all strategy aims to empower the differently abled, underprivileged and vulnerable of Nepal, having adopted the principles; a) Disadvantaged group focus b) People centeredness c) Gender quity d) Participation e) Children's right f) Mainstreaming g) Empowermen.

Key working Strategy:

  • Grace Home's over all strategy aims to empower the differently abled, underprivileged and vulnerable of Nepal. So as to achieve the objectives of the organization, it has set out the following working strategies.
  • The organization will implement the aforesaid objectives having deserved the authority from the relevant government agencies as per the prevailing Laws of Nepal.
  • The organization shall construct its own building or take in lease for installation of the office. It shall also procure the essential furniture, materials and quipment as required at the office.
  • The organization shall recruit the necessary personnel and determine the terms and conditions for them.
  • The grace home shall rehabilitate the displaced, vulnerable and impoverished children, disabled and elderly people having prepared their profiles and their prioritization.
  • Undertake awareness campaigns in the society regarding children rights.
  • Undertake awareness campaigns regarding environment and sanitation.
  • Rehabilitate the needy people without any biasness based on religion, class, reces, gender and political ideologies.

Objectives:

  • This organization shall remain as a non profit social welfare organization.
  • Manage lodging, fooding, clothing, education, health and protection having established an orphan home for poor vulnerable and orphan children.
  • Make disabled and dying destitute/elders self reliant having managed the skill development trainings depending upon the resource availability.
  • Make people religious through preaching, praying, publishing and disseminating the magazines.
  • Protect the conflict victim and affected vulnerable children and youths to be deviated from the society having undertaken massive awareness campaign in the society.

So as to achieve the aforesaid objectives, the organization shall abide the following code and conducts.

  • Establish dormitory/orphan home for at least 10 orphans with an area of 30 sq. ft for each child.
  • The organization shall work in favor of vulnerable children having established close contact and collaboration with different orphan homes, district children welfare committee and women development offices.
  • Provide nutritious food to the orphans of grace home during morning and evening each day and provide a couple of dresses in a year as per the season.
  • The organization shall keep the orphans or children who are orphans, who lack kinship and who are economically vulnerable and deprived.
  • The organization shall keep the children in the home till they reach 18 years of age. Then they will be either reintegrated to their family or made self reliant having provided vocational trainings for self employment opportunities.
  • The male and female children will have will have separate rooms and toilets in the home/dormitory.
  • The organization shall offer / provide quality education to the orphans/children kept in the home.
  • For the conduction of the orphan home, the organization shall duly mention the financial sources.
  • The organization shall work in achieving the objectives of 10 years national plan of the children.
  • The organization shall submit the annual programs and progress reports to respective DDC, WDO, and DADO.
  • The organization will take permanent PAN number from the VAT office within the 6 months of registration or it will receive the certificate of Non-VAT application for the social organization.
  • Protect and promote children right as per the CRC
  • Undertake regular health checking programs of children in the home at least once in every two months in exception of falling sick.
  • The home shall have one each care taker, cook, and personnel for at least 15 children.
  • The organization shall manage recreation and sport programs in the home.
  • The home shall have well ventilated spacious rooms, playgrounds and gardens in and around the home.
  • The home shall submit the programs and progress to the relevant stakeholders as outlined in the guidelines of gender and children mainstreaming, 2061.
  • The organization shall also abide the minimum standard, 2060 regarding the conduction and management of children home.

Organizational Setup:

The general assembly (GA) is the supreme body of the organization, which elects the board of executives. The organizational structure is presented below.

The organization is managed by a board of directors and one of who acts and an executive director (ED) for daily management of the office.
